bamboo: tomorrow ends yesterday
bamboo. i miss these guys. bamboo's first album called as the music plays was the first original record that i bought with my own money. it was the first record i bought. ever. the third album, we stand alone together was the only record that my dad bought for me in a mall. it was in sm baguio i think.
i plan to collect all the cds of this band because they are so worth all the cash. they have so much impact on me that i have to actually listen and understand whatever it is that they have to say to me, to the mass, to the government, to the world. they have a new album called TOMORROW ENDS TODAY which will be out sometime this month. and i want it.

and i have never even seen them. :(

the crazy house and greenhills
before i got here though, i had a field trip. in a national mental institution. cool huh? it was stinky and secluded, a little lighter looking than i expected and just too silent. except for the occasional screams of the unmanageable patients. there were some who were able to go out and talk to ordinary people but some were really tied to beds because the were aggressive and pain inflicting. i think. it was a bonus points earning thing for physio psych which i really might have not needed at all (because i already was exempted in the finals. ehem.)
and oh yeah, the date with my teacher? sure. it was a group date haha. yeah, me and a couple of blockmates invited him to eat somewhere in greenhills and guess what? he paid for everything. and it wasn't cheap because it was a chinese restaurant and there were a lot of us. it was a real bonding moment. (yuck, did i just say that?) but yeah, he told us a lot of things about med and his life and anything outside physio psych. :) we really liked sir cuenca. he's a good teacher and person. :) we ended up buying him a chocolate cake with the money that we supposedly should have spent for our lunch. that may be the last time that i will see him but i know i will remember him forever.
nostalgic already? maybe.

i like pikeys!

it has this mafia type of gambling and a lot of cursing and deceit. anyway, i don't wanna have to make my own synopsis because the lazy just got to me faster. hahaha. so here, something from Filmtwob {webmaster@filmfreak.co.za}
Turkish and his close friend/accomplice Tommy get pulled into the world of match fixing by the notorious Brick Top. Things get complicated when the boxer they had lined up gets the shit kicked out of him by Pitt, a 'pikey' ( slang for an Irish Gypsy)- who comes into the equation after Turkish, an unlicensed boxing promoter wants to buy a caravan off the Irish Gypsies. They then try to convince Pitt not only to fight for them, but to lose for them too. Whilst all this is going on, a huge diamond heist takes place, and a fistful of motley characters enter the story, including 'Cousin Avi', 'Boris The Blade', 'Franky Four Fingers' and 'Bullet Tooth Tony'. Things go from bad to worse as it all becomes about the money, the guns, and the damned dog!

teh greenhills way.
about 3-4 weeks ago, my mom came to manila from the province because she was going abroad, to jerusalem for a conference. she also extended for a vacation. :) said her hotel room was haunted. it was across death valley. she lost dad's phone somewhere along the jesus' pathway to calvary. yeah, whoaaah. anyway anyway, when she got back,
we went to greenhills. i don't know exactly why, for shopping i think because last time i checked, my closet wasn't that bulky and neither was my shoe collection. so there. i saw SIB SIBULO. well, that was the first thing i remembered just now. haha. he was crossing a pedestrian in a boy scout shirt, (green and white) and a backpack. my sister and i were all "hey it's sib" and my mom was, "eh?" ahaha.
so about greenhills, it's a great place for cheap shopping. i was so amazed when we got there. last time i saw havaianas there they were spelled HAVANAS, now they can fake the real thing too? wow. and everything that i bought in the states were there dammit. from shutter shades, to the cool colorful skinny pants that teens love, and other shit. honestly, i can't tell which is fake and which is real. they've really done it this time. and what the heck it was cheap and no one barely notices fakes because most people have these stuff (havainanas, shades) too and you'll never know where they bought it. it's amazing. (pardon the amazement factor here) i don't despise fakers, in fact i do think they're really good. bravo. claps! all the roxys and the quicksilvers, the louis vuitton and dolce and gabbanas, holy mackerel. they're all there. we'll they've always been there but you know, i really never noticed them then, all i saw was pure "FAKERY." although, i'm not entirely sure so now, i'm kinda elevating my senses to more reasonable thoughts.
what else, uh, oh you can get really lost there. it's like every turn has the same stack of shoes, shades and pants. dayng! my sister wanted to buy a nice jacket but she was still deciding really because it was a little too big on her but it was really cool. anyway, we tried to go back to the store after a long while of discussion and decision making but yeah it was pretty hard. we were circling the place like vultures eyeing on a prey except we can't see the prey. so technically we are just kids lost in the woods. haha. so my point initially: you can gat lost in greenhills. my second point: make sure you are really sure before you leave something behind, you may never find it again. :D
and then i saw mong's shirt. oohhh. yep, i think the saleslady was creeped out that i took a photo of it hahahaha. whutever. i was like, "oh mong's shirt, wait why is.. ooh i know where someone shops. hehehe"

why does it look sexy on him? :D :D okay that's enough. :)
soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer
and that, folks was how we lost the soccer tournament for our PE finals in just the elimination round. yep, our team wasn't really all good. damn, that kick was the only goal we had for the entire tournament. that makes me MVP. of my team. hahaha. well they officially called it. not me. nonetheless, we still got A's on our report card for PE. the other team in our class won championship match against another class and we get to share the glory. yey. and grade.
it was a fun semester for PE. aside from carrying a big bulk of smelly and sweaty knee socks and gym clothes around campus after i take a bath, i really had super fun. my blockmates are great. others are already good and had prior experience to the game but they were more than willing to teach us strategy and movement around the field. our coach was also okay, he wasn't offensive in any light; he taught us well and he didn't make a big fuss about anyone not being good enough. :) thanks coach joel.
i bought a soccer ball and i'm now having fun kicking it. :) hopefully, i get to play good games soon. and hopefully i get, well good at it too. soon. more practice.
i planned to write about this tournament age ago but i couldn't because of the schoolwork and now i'm catching up on some documenting before i leave for the province. :)
it's pathetic but who cares.
boogie romero and jorel corpus, both from kjwan just made me jump off my seat today. i know it's really nothing out of the eebuhgeebuhgeebees but whutever. what are the chances that famous rockstars view your site huh? :)
they viewed my multiply site. yey. i'm happy now. :)
I LOVE YOU BOOGIE.

on ending the sem
BUT.
now it's over and i'll try to list down the stuff that went by. for kicks. :)
** oh shit wala. :D nah, i'm too lazy to remember them all.
i'll tell you about my teachers though.
3. that's pretty much it. haha. i'll miss my soccer classmates. surely i won't be playing as much soccer anymore. :( but i'll try. i'll miss the bonfire because it was the only event in school that i actually was interested in going to. :) i'll miss my sleepless nights. i'll miss my laboratory reports. i'll miss my gigs. :) i guess that's some of the things. :)

oh, real mature, ateneans
i'm not sure how it happened but well it did. names of la salle players painted on the planks used for the ateneo bonfire were well, burned that night. i didn't even notice.
it's not right.
it shouldn't have been.
sorry la salle.
we haven't been ourselves lately.
prolly because of all the excitement.
sorry. :(

fr. nebres, the school president wrote a letter to de la salle university right after he found out about this and he was obviously totally clueless as me about this. here's his letter.
and the president of la salle replied to this. see letter below.
3 October 2008
Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, SJ
President
Ateneo de Manila University
Dear Fr. Nebres,
I write this letter for two reasons. The first one is to own up to producing the materials with the names of the Green Archers and placing them prominently in the woodpile before the bonfire for all to see.
Secondly, I sincerely apologize to you for the queasy situation you are in as a result of the backlash it created.
While the nature of this letter is a personal apology to you, please feel free to extend
it to parties you may deem fit to receive it.
Sincerely,
Jesse Paredes

UAAP championship bonfire/ MUDBATH! '08
so, september 30, 2008. it was shining til about 1pm and then it suddenly poured! damn, i was taking my chem lab exam and i couldn't get my mind off the possible cancellation of the bonfire for tonight. but yeah, it did push through and it was frekken awesome. at about 5:30, the rain was gone but the whole bellarmine field was wet, muddy and well grassless! my white shoes were all soiled, thank god i didn't slip and roll over the floor (urgh, horrible horrible), i had my trusty camera and i got all the photos i want.
6:00pm: mass at the chapel of gesu. we didn't go, instead we sat comfortably in our pre-owned seats right in front of the bonfire. oh yeah, they were reserved especially for our block. thanks dar.
around 7:00pm: i met gela and we went back and forth the field to.. uh.. i don't know really, catch some people, get a glance of chris tiu, whatever. but enough enough. the other university champions were first acknowledged-- swim team, HS basketball team yada yada yada.
8-9:00-ish pm: the UAAP champions finally came out. they were introduced one by one, i had a great view. the people didn't care that i went through all of them, some even let me through, i think they thought i was part of a documents crew because i had a big camera with me. but all those walking made my shoes all brown and mushy muddy, elk. don't care. TIU TIU TIU. i had a lot of him shots and noy shots and eric and rabeh shots. haha. was he staring straight at my camera? oohh.
10:00pm: BONFIRE! the varsity team was right behind me (they were on the stage, i was in the front row) but the bonfire was at the center o' the field so we all looked back. i got good glances of the players and good shots of course. hahahaha.
12:00am: kjwan went up the stage na. OMG boogie! you are just sex! (ehem angel ehem. hahaha) he's so hot. he kept on coming to do guitar solos in front of me so he had a lot of shots. heheh. (what an excuse) and marc was so cute din, you go marc. kel was so cute, he smiled at me in one of my photos. haha. thanks kelley bear. i couldn't get good shots of jhoon behind drums because the stage was soo high and marc kept on jumping in front of him. i did get a few shots but a few would have made me happier. hehehe. this was the time i started deleting old photos because i didn't have enough memory in my camera. damn. gladly, i didn't miss a lot of kjwan. it was my favorite band of the night. yey! i love kjwan.
after everything: as usual, i wasn't able to get any photos with the people backstage because that's gela's job. hahaha. i just couldn't. i couldn't move properly because of the mud so i didn't bother going backstage. :) we walked towards the exit to go head on home, talking about the mud and the rain that suddenly just poured right after, when MONG JUST WALKED PAST US! and yep you got it right, i just melted there, my friend was supposed to call him but i did the necessary beating. haha. oh dear me mong. you just keep killing me everytime. oh well.
p.s. yan yuzon was there and he was totally up for the la salle insults. you go yan! poch was also there. awww. i wanted to go take a picture of him but i just can't leave kjwan playing on stage! next time. next time. aww i missed them sooo much. :) :)
my last words: GO TEAM! WE LOVE IT! ATENEO RULES! SUPREME LOVE AND RESPECT. WE'LL MISS YOU MR. NUMBER 17. :)
